Navigating Anxiety with Janine Tandy

A short micro practice that has a quick impact on creating a more calm, relaxed inner atmosphere.

Anxiety, worry, fear. All of these felt experiences not only pull us away from feeling grounded and present but can result in feeling disconnected and disembodied. We get stuck in the headspace and in a nervous system state of hypervigilance.  Follow this short micro practice for a wonderful and supportive way of mitigating this response and coming back into embodied presence.

Practice guidelines

  1. Get your body down onto the ground. When we can connect our physical form with the ground, it helps to settle that higher-toned energy.

  2. Place your left hand over your heart centre to connect to this space. It is a lovely gesture of self-support and soothing for the nervous system.

  3. Place your right-hand palm down onto the floor next to you to ground energy.

  4. Feel your body here, connect to your heart, and with each exhale, visualize moving the anxiety, worry and anything else you'd like to release out through the right hand and into the ground. you can be quite specific with what you'd like to release.

  5. Stay for a few minutes - this is a short micro practice that has a quick impact - creating a more calm relaxed inner atmosphere.
